One morning in May 2024, while I was participating in an underwater photo competition with several worthy competitors, I entered this competition without much hope of victory. It was when I came out of the water, when I saw my captures, that I realized that this photo had every chance of winning a prize. This blenny that I called the Big Boss in its diamond and emerald setting would indeed win the prize for the best macro shot of the competition (Deshaies, Guadeloupe). A prize that rewarded the image but also the performance of the capture for this small fish that moves as fast as a lightning bolt.
